Our team constantly question, learn and grow – that’s what makes us experts.
We are a family run health & wellbeing company with a difference.
Massimo and Helen live in Dorking with their family and have always been invested in Dorking life and community. A shared passion for Physiotherapy, movement-based rehabilitation and research, has always led them to constantly explore & develop within their profession. Over 10 years ago, they opened their first Physiotherapy clinic in Dorking town centre alongside their NHS work. As Surrey Hills Physiotherapy Ltd steadily grew, the dream of being able to expand into a central hub for the promotion of health and wellbeing in Dorking and the wider community, was realised organically. Now SHP Health, and based at The Barn at Denbies, that central hub continues to grow and evolve to meet the needs of the local community, whilst also extending services and expert training further afield. When not at work both Massimo & Helen enjoy having fun travelling with their 3 children, dancing and keeping connected to friends and family.

In her 20’s Amy began to attend yoga classes regularly at DanceWorks in London. Amy realised yoga could be an intense workout and fell in love with the concept of ‘power yoga’. During her studies, she became more interested in the spiritual and philosophical side to the teaching of yoga and she now teaches Vinyasa Flow and Hatha Yoga. Amy enjoys using Yoga as a tool with people for different reasons – to help them recover from injury, coping with grief, through stages of cancer, dealing with chronic stress, and helping with athletic performance.
Seeing the same faces each week coming back. They get to know me, and I get to know them, and they all get to know each other, which makes for a super friendly and supportive atmosphere in class. Plus of course, the studio itself is beautiful!

Yoga Instructor
Debi was drawn to Yoga as just another form of exercise, but she loved how her body and mind felt after a practice that prompted her to train as a teacher. Her teaching has evolved through her love of anatomy and movement; ongoing study with renowned teachers to keep current with science but not losing the love of the deep philosophy of Yoga. Debi teaches alignment-based Hatha, Yin, and Restorative Yoga. Every class is taught with love, compassion, and support.
What a beautiful space to teach and to be taught. Everyone is welcomed and ALL the members of SHP team are wonderful. It is an oasis of calm. A space to reconnect. A space to breathe.

Yoga Instructor
Jo is 200 HR trained Yoga teacher and has been practicing yoga for just over 6 years. Jo fell in love with yoga from her first class as it provided the ability to let the day go. Within Jo’s classes, she likes to build up heat through following Sun Salutations A and B which provide the perfect opportunity to fully let the day go and come back to the practice. Jo teaches dynamic vinyasa flow led by the breath to build strength within the body to create a mind and body workout. Jo also likes to bring Yin elements to the practice and classes to really work into flexibility and allow the body and mind to feel comfortable sitting in stillness.
I love the space and the community at SHP. It has given the perfect opportunity to grow as a yoga teacher.

Yoga Instructor
Kat initially came to Yoga for the physical workout but quickly discovered that the breath to movement also stilled her mind. As Kat commenced her studies she found a strong practice, coupled with the teachings of Yoga philosophy, brought her healing and she became passionate about bringing Yoga’s teachings to her students so it could do the same for them too.
Also a Sound Therapist, Clinical Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner, Kat enjoys creatively interweaving these other healing disciplines into her soulful Vinyasa and Slow Flows too.
Firstly, it’s a family – both amongst the staff and students alike! Secondly, the studio is stunning and creates a real place of calm amongst the chaos of modern life. And finally, I actually got married at Denbies so the venue holds a very special place for me.

She teaches ashtanga, yin yang, vinyasa flow and yin. Her classes are strong and energetic, bringing connection to the self through the breath, mind and body focus. She motivates students to explore their own potential and activate self awareness. Her classes often integrate meditative breathing techniques, as tools to build into your everyday life, on and off the mat.
The amazing supportive community; you feel it from the moment you enter the studio, in its glorious setting. The energy is infectious, it’s impossible to not come back!

Yoga Instructor
I discovered yoga in my early twenties. It awakened something vital that felt like it had been dormant for a long time: an awareness of the relationship between my body, mind and spirit.
In June 2023, I qualified as a 200 hour yoga teacher with The Yoga People. I teach Ashtanga Vinyasa, Rocket and Mandala Vinyasa. My intention in my classes is to empower you with tools to deepen your relationship with your body, mind and spirit and your sense of connection to life.
I want my classes to be as accessible as possible, so I always give plenty of options for poses and prioritise ‘function over form’. I aim to create an environment to build physical and mental strength and flexibility, but also for self-exploration, loving acceptance, and hopefully, fun!
The best thing about working at SHP is being part of the supportive and inspiring community (staff team and clients included!).

Yoga Instructor
I have been practising yoga most of my adult life, but fell in love with Vinyasa yoga through Jessica Skye when I lived in London, and subsequently deepened my practise and was motivated to train in Vinyasa Flow after meeting my beloved teacher Jo Porter when I moved to Surrey.
Vinyasa connects breath, movement, and mindfulness through its unique flowing style. This flow allows students to engage with their body on a physical, energetic and emotional level, establishing a practice that leaves them feeling balanced and restored. As well as building strength and flexibility, my aim as a teacher is to establish a moving meditation through dynamic and uplifting breath-led flows, allowing students an opportunity to reconnect with themselves and feeling ready to step with fresh perspective into a new week.
It’s an absolute honour to have been asked to continue the Sunday morning class established by Jo Porter. The barn at SHP is a beautiful, inspiring and supportive space. I love practising here and have been lucky enough to cover some of its wonderful teachers. I look forward to welcoming yogis to the Sunday morning class, creating a space where we can move, breathe, and grow together.

Liv is a strong believer in, and a great advocate for, the benefit of doing both Pilates and Yoga together. Since then, she has done many workshops and has developed a love for Yoga Nidra.
The warmth – both literally and figuratively.
